Reprints and Imprints Production Associate
Candlewick Press seeks a Reprints and Imprints Production Associate to oversee the production for reprints of Candlewick backlist titles, including Candlewick versions of Walker-originated titles, Templar/Big Picture Press titles, Nosy Crow titles, and buy-in package titles. The associate will also handle the production and purchasing of assigned imprint frontlist titles.

Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the Reprints Manager, Finance department and Inventory management team, the Reprints and Imprints Production Associate
will attend weekly reprint meetings, maintain reprint schedule report, and keep accurate records of books ordered and received.
- Liaise with London office to traffic and oversee reprint production of Candlewick backlist titles as applicable.
- Liaise with foreign and domestic publishers to transmit Candlewick reprint changes and track schedules for backlist buy-in titles.
- Work with vendors to negotiate costs to achieve the most competitive pricing, select materials, and order printing as applicable.
- Liaise with imprint partners to plan, traffic proofs and oversee production of frontlist picture book titles.
- Work closely with finance, designers, editors and sales in planning and project management.
- Circulate and track reprint and frontlist imprint proofs for corrections/approval.
- Work diligently to achieve expectations regarding margin performance, to improve efficiencies, and identify areas of cost savings.
- Prepare estimates, print instructions or purchase orders, and shipping information through company database.
- Receive and approve advances for assigned reprints and imprint frontlist titles.
- Work with Production Assistant to maintain the print library and keep up-to-date and organized with most current impression samples.
- Provide Production Assistant with the necessary information to enter invoice instructions into company database for co-edition reprints.
- Expediently review invoices, resolve any discrepancies and approve for payment.

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2 years book production and print buying experience in a juvenile publishing environment with both 1-color and 4-color experience preferred
- Proven experience with a history of success in effectively scheduling, trafficking and managing a list of titles
- Must be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and efficiently and deal with issues diplomatically and tactfully
