Colin Stimpson studied drawing and painting at Kingston School of Art. After college he soon began working in the animation industry. He has since worked for many years as an Art Director and Production Designer for Walt Disney Feature Animation, Universal Pictures, and Steven Spielberg, among others. He worked as a designer on the hugely successful animated features The Lorax and Despicable Me 2.
He has also illustrated a number of books, notably The Poison Diaries by the Duchess of Northumberland, and How To Cook Children and Germs!, both written by Martin Howard.
Jack and the Baked Beanstalk is his debut as both author and illustrator. Colin Stimpson lives in an old house in Surrey, England.
