Sales Assistant
Candlewick Press seeks a motivated sales assistant responsible for providing a variety of administrative tasks to support our selling efforts.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Scheduling meetings and handling sales appointment prep
- Assisting with account inquiries, purchase order follow-up
- Tracking and processing coop claims
- Assisting with newsletters and preparations for conferences
- Monitoring canceled orders
- Creating sell-sheets, ads and other appropriate sales materials as needed
- Preparing sales reports
- Compiling and distributing weekly call reports
- Monitoring sales estimate grid
- Taking notes at meetings when needed
- Pulling sales data as needed, completing spreadsheets for analysis
- Performing other support tasks as requested
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
- Strong follow-through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, and social media
- An interest in the publishing industry and sales is strongly preferred
While this full-time position will start out as partially remote, it will eventually be based in-house at our Somerville, MA office.
