Sales Assistant
Candlewick Press seeks an enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our talented team. Reporting to our Executive Director of Special Markets, the Sales Assistant will provide a variety of administrative tasks to support our special market sales and other key accounts.

Responsibilities will include:

To support the Executive Director of Special Markets and an Account Manager
- Assist with key account meetings including PowerPoint presentations and Excel Spreadsheets
- Coordinate sales kits and presentation materials to key accounts and special markets customers
- Help with conference and meeting preparation
- Compile and distribute meeting notes
- Run sales reporting from a variety of systems, completing spreadsheets for analysis
- Maintain departmental databases and tracking grids
- Work with the PRHSM team on material needs and distribution.
- Identify and research new markets for our titles.
- Coop maintenance and processing
- Create and customize Edelweiss collections
- Maintain the sales calendar
- Assist with other departmental and support tasks as requested

To support our Proprietary sales efforts:
- Distribute proprietary materials internally and to customers
- Maintain the samples library for both the trade and proprietary business
- Assist with bill-onlys and proprietary projects as needed.


A friendly, professional, and poised demeanor along with the ability to perform efficiently under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment comfortably is required. Great orientation to detail, a strong sense of prioritization, and great communication skills along with excellent typing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills is also required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and other computer software knowledge is necessary. This role dictates that the individual be a quick learner and be resourceful, extremely organized, proactive, detail-orientated and a strong team player. An interest in a Children's trade publishing sales career is preferred and a love of children's books is a plus.

This is a full-time position based in our Somerville, MA office (hybrid work arrangements will be available for eligible roles).
